4. Providing fuel management data (especially important for fleet management):
Sensor data is also typically provided to the vehicle's onboard computer or telematics system.
Monitoring fuel consumption: Calculate the average fuel consumption for a specific route or mission.
Preventing fuel theft: Abnormal or unexpected drops in fuel may indicate fuel theft.
5. Optimizing routes and driving behavior: Analyzing fuel consumption data can find more fuel-efficient routes or correct bad
driving habits (such as hard acceleration and idling for too long).
Planning refueling: Based on vehicle location and fuel level data, refueling locations and times can be arranged more efficiently,
reducing the time spent driving empty to find a gas station.
6. Calculating range: Combined with the average fuel consumption data, the onboard computer can more accurately estimate the
remaining mileage of the remaining fuel.
