Installation Position
The piston is fitted inside each engine cylinder, positioned between the connecting rod and combustion chamber,
moving up and down within the cylinder liner.
Main Functions
Bear combustion pressure: Receive high-pressure gas thrust from fuel explosion, convert thermal energy into
mechanical power, transfer force to connecting rod and crankshaft to drive the truck.
Seal combustion chamber: Together with piston rings, seal clearance between piston and cylinder wall to prevent
compressed gas leakage into crankcase and stop engine oil entering combustion chamber.
Heat dissipation: Transfer most heat from combustion to cylinder wall via piston rings, to control normal working
temperature of engine.
Scrape excess oil: Assisted by oil control rings to wipe surplus lubricating oil off cylinder inner surface back to
oil pan.
